PROJECT
Resume
KIMERAA aimed to develop niches of excellence through the creation of bridges between the scientific organisations and firms related with maritime and marine resources. To this goal, it was necessary to articulate knowledge transfer channels in the regions in the Atlantic Area, connecting different institutional actors that intervene in the Marine and Maritime Economy. The project tried to tackle the transnational problem, known as the European Paradox, the difficulty of European research to be transformed in profitable high added-value products. KIMERAA promoted a deeper understanding of maritime clusters, the innovation actors and institutions in Atlantic Area. Competencies and services catalogues in marine sciences, technologies and clusters were developed in all partner organizations to create a transnational web tool to match research capabilities with technology and product demands (Sea Directory). Finally, the European Network of Knowledge Transfer in Atlantic Area (ENKTAA) was promoted in order to give additional sustainability to project results. The project was implemented from 2011 to 2014.
